ALGAE 45'

Even though the sailboat was designed for a cruise the boat is far from slow. The hull was especially designed to be incredibly sea worthy and efficient. Looking at the data over at the Technical Specifications section you will immediatly notice the special data collected by the MAXSURF processor. Data such as :
Prismatic coeff. (Cp) 0.546
Block coeff. (Cb) 0.387
Wetted Area 38330581.0 mm^2
Length:Beam ratio 3.184
Beam:Draft ratio 7.074
Length:Vol^0.333 ratio 5.702
Looking at the Gaussian map of the hull will reveal how careful micro modification of the hull's curvature produced a perfectly smooth surface with minimal critical curvature areas.
The challenge of fitting 8 single beds into a vessel this size produced a tight arrangement with small common area. Every free corner is used as storage space to maximize efficiency and allow equipment to be installed and stored on board.
In order to maximize efficiency and allow 8 crew men to be able to cruise for a long duration all systems are specially designed to recycle when ever possible and reuse if when opportunity allows.
The technique of cold-molded modeling involves laminating together layers of wood veneers or very thin planks to create a hull that is watertight, extremely strong, and lightweight. Although considered "Old-School" -Wood has a far superior strength to weight ratio than does fiberglass, better sound insulator and is far more durable.
Wood construction - Recyclable material, eco-friendly low pollution production process.
Water recycling - Gray water from sinks and shower are used for flushing the toilets.
Green energy - Electricity is produce via the Wind-dynamo, the Water-dynamo and the Solar panels. Bio-Fuel is produced by harvesting the algae growing in the superstructure tubes.
8 Single beds - Accommodating a large crew in a small vessel for medium to long range missions.
Efficient design - Low drag hull.
WHO
Greenpeace's goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. Therefore Greenpeace seeks to: protect biodiversity in all its forms prevent pollution and abuse of the earth's ocean, land, air and fresh water end all nuclear threats promote peace, global disarmament and non-violent.
The Greenpeace fleet of ships is a unique asset in the battle to save planet Earth and protect the global commons. Our ships are used at the forefront of Greenpeace campaigning, often sailing to remote areas to bear witness and take action against environmental destruction.
HOW
Designated to join the GREENPEACE's flotilla, this yacht was designed to carry a crew of +8 brave men and women to different missions around the world.
Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and to force the solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future.
